Dear Jack Callaghan Community,
We have come to the end of our roller coaster of a ride school year. Since September we have created new routines, learned new rules, and we have flipped between in school and online. I think everyone will agree that it hasn’t been an easy year. We started out in September with the goal “We can do hard things!” And we accomplished that goal; we did a very hard year!
Thank you to our teachers and staff for their dedication and determination to help our students through this tumultuous time. Thank you to our parents for your support and understanding along the way. For stepping up and taking on so much when we had to move to online learning. You have been wonderful partners in your child’s learning. Thank you to our students! We have seen you grow so much over the year. Perhaps not in the usual ways, but your flexibility and resiliency was put to the test and you have shown that you’ve got what it takes!!!
Just a reminder to parents who may still have technology, or who may need to pick up belongings for your child, we will be at the school to help with this between 2:30 and 4:30 today.
Report cards will be sent out by email by the end of the day today. Please look for it in your email. You also may want to check your permissions with School Messenger. Notes on how to do this are attached. For students in grades 1-8 their report cards were also sent to their school email, in the event any parents are having difficulty accessing it through their own email.
Next year’s teacher will be communicated with families the week before school commences in the fall.
As we disembark from this ride, we would like to wish all of our students and their families a very safe and happy summer. We are hopeful for a more improved school experience next year as COVID cases drop and restrictions are eased. In the meantime, be kind to yourselves and one another, and be well.
