TLDSB recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On September 29, Trillium Lakelands District School Board and its schools recognized the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation through a number of school and community events that took place across the Board. Staff and students were encouraged to wear orange to show their support and reflect on how we all can work towards reconciling our past and present relationships for a better future together.

One of the Board-wide initiatives included a live-stream event at Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI). Local elementary and secondary schools were invited to attend the event and hear from local Elders and Knowledge Holders who shared messages of truth, resiliency, and the importance of being part of reconciliation. The event was live-streamed and recorded so that students and staff who were unable to attend had access to the valuable learning throughout the day and in days to come.
